A Blast From the Past

For those of you around prior to 1980, you may remember a great educational tool from Texas Instruments, called the Speak and Spell.

I was surprised and delighted (I get my kicks easy) to find a Speak and Spell simulator online by clicking here.

This is an early text-to-speech educational tool, and while the voice quality isn't great and the simulation is limited, it brought a sense of nostalgia when I saw it.

Does anyone own a Speak and Spell, and are you still using it in your classrooms?
