I stumbled across this in my searches today and thought it'd be a good resource to pass along.
LibriVox is the audiobook equivalent of Project Gutenberg. This project provides free audiobook downloads of works that are public domain. There are some great titles available, ranging from poetry to fiction. There are a few foreign language books available, as well.
If you're interested, LibriVox also is seeking volunteers to record chapters of different books.
