Swamped

OK. It's that time of year when we're up to our ears in annual reviews, evaluations, end-of-the-year training, etc. (Hence my excuse for not posting more...)

I hearken back to the days when we filled out IEPs that had carbon copies, so that each party could have one. My last year teaching, we hired a tech person to write IEP software for us.

So, all you techie special ed. teacher types:

  • What are you using for IEPs now?

  • Has technology helped or hindered your IEP process? Saved you any time?

  • What features or tools do you wish you had access to that would save you time and effort?

We are currently using Excent Tera. We have had tons of issues with network drops. Sometimes as often as every 15 minutes but we are uncertain if this is due to the GGW client used to connect to the Excent Tera Server or whether it is network traffic. We are currently investigating other options, SEAS looks pretty good so far, but hope to fix our outstanding issues instead. We feel it's only a matter of time before we are all forced to the state IEP, so we are heistant to put too much money into a new solution at this time. I am anxious to hear what everyone else is using.
