Will I sound tragically unhip if I say that this post is a "shout out" to all of the folks that attended CTG this year?
Anyone who has gone to the Gap knows that it is a non-stop flurry of information that no one can possibly process. I was only able to attend a handful of presentations, and I know that the same holds true for all of you.
So I want to learn from you. And I'd love it if you learned from one another, too. So, if you attended Closing the Gap this year, please post a comment about:
- Your impressions of the conference,
- any speakers that really impressed you,
- new tools that you saw and fell in love with in the exhibit hall, or
- how you are using what you learned in the classroom.

I'm going to get things started by posting about a new product that is being developed by Advanced Keyboard Technologies (the folks who gave us The Writer). They are working on a new portable word processor, with all of the features of The Writer, larger viewscreen, adjustable font size, and text-to-speech capabilities. And the price for all of this? Around $350. WOW!
P.S. to the last comment - this new device, The Fusion, is still in beta testing, and is not shipping yet. I'll keep you posted...
I was truly inspired by Dan Herlihy and his Intellitools Extreme presentation. He had such simple ideas that I just never thought about before.
Marc Coppin made me want to stand up and cheer. Using intellikeys for accessing iphoto and imovie never occurred to me.
I am new to the field of AT, so forgive me if I seem easily impressed.
I also attended 3 great sessions on podcasting. I learned so much and my brain is spinning with the possibilities! Now if I can just get my hands on some video ipods!
It seems a bit strange to welcome you to the field of AT, because you have such a wealth of knowledge in Ed Tech.
But, welcome anyway!
